About Central Bank of India : Central Bank of India is a central public sector undertaking. It is under the ownership of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. It is based in Mumbai, the financial capital of India and capital city of state of Maharashtra. Central Bank of India was instrumental in the creation of the first Indian exchange bank, the Central Exchange Bank of India, which opened in London in 1936. However, Barclays Bank acquired Central Exchange Bank of India in 1938.
Also before World War II, Central Bank of India established a branch in Rangoon. The branch’s operations concentrated on business between Burma and India, and especially money transmission via telegraphic transfer. Profits derived primarily from foreign exchange and margins. The bank also lent against land, produce, and other assets, mostly to Indian businesses. The bank has a network of 4,608 branches, 3,644 ATMs, ten satellite offices and one extension counter. Central Bank Of India Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria :
Educational Qualification:
Safai Karmachari cum Sub-Staff:
- Minimum Eighth standard Pass or its equivalent examination pass.
- Higher qualification does not have any concession, or weightage in the service of the Bank.
Note:
- The candidate should have proficiency in the official language of the State/Union Territory (i.e. Candidate should be able to read, write and speak in the official language of the State/Union Territory) for which vacancies a candidate wishes to apply.
- The candidate should be a local resident of the State/Union Territory.
Probation: The selected candidates will be on probation for a period of two years from the date of joining.
Selection Process:
- Selection will be through an Online examination (conducted by IBPS) and Local language test (by Bank) strictly on merit, subject to the Reservation policy and guidelines issued by the Government of India in this regard.
- Candidates must qualify in the above four tests by securing cut-off marks to be decided by the Bank per the Government guidelines.
- An adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank, depending upon requirements, will be shortlisted for the local language test/examination.
- Local language test After the online examination, four times of total vacancies (State-wise and category-wise) qualified candidates will be called at concerned Zonal Offices (list attached) for the Local language test.
- Schedules of local language test/exam will be informed separately.
- Local Language test: 30 Marks, 30 minutes
- There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests.
- For each question to which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty to arrive at a corrected score.
- If a question is left blank, i.e. the candidate marks no answer, there will be no penalty for that question.
