Project 1: Cross Border payments

Cross Border payments leverage SWIFT network to process payments across the banks around the globe. SWIFT expects all banks to align to message format and structure as specified by the organisations. There have been recent advancements made by SWIFT to accommodate new message formats as it intends to migrate out of fixed length layout to XML based layout.

There is need to validate message constructs against spec in automated manner to avoid message rejection at gateway. Key activities include

• Product validation to ensure the migrated messages conform to the ISO standard
• Automating test cases for the CBPR process
• Understand and support regression integration testing to verify seamless interaction with existing systems after the migration

Business Objectives:

The goal of the dashboard is to track GC adoption through different stages (Inquiry, NSTP, STP), analyse customer drop-offs and improve the customer experience.

Project Description:

AEF is an in-house data protection system based partly on open-source software. AEF uses open-standards NIST based encryption algorithms for data protection on the ADA Analytics Platform. The Policy Dashboard allows security admins to configure data protection policies that are mapped to data attributes, and used to encrypt data.

The project involves the following activities

• API development to perform creation & management of data protection policies
• automating test cases for the APIs
• Understand and support regression, and integration testing.

Business Objectives:

To provide an interface for data protection policy management.

Pre-Requisite & Self-Study:

Working knowledge in Java, familiarity with SpringBoot/Quarkus or other similar frameworks, and an understanding of data modelling. Curiosity to learn and adapt are welcome.

Project 4: Big Data – Next Gen Analytics

Project Description: Consumer Banking & Customer Management (C2MA) provides Big Data Analytics solutions for DBS Bank. Big Data Next Gen Analytics solution follows 3 Tier Architecture i.e. Tier-1 for Data Ingestion on Lake, Tier-2 for Enterprise Data Domains, Tier-3 for Data Marts and DaaS-APIs to interact with Web-based and External Applications. C2MA goal is to bring in all source systems across the globe (Singapore, India, Indonesia, Hongkong and Taiwan banking systems) data onto Big Data platform allowing Data Engineers, Business Analysts and ML-Engineers to perform cutting edge data analytics and build AI and ML models

Business Objectives for DBS Bank Internship 2025 :

• Operationalize Consumer Banking, Customer Data Analytics, Campaign Management, Data Visualization related Pyspark scripts on Big data platform by strictly following DBS data governance and security standards
• Deploy and Operationalize AI and ML model related Pyspark Scripts
• Provide aggregated/summarized data to downstream systems – Qlikview and Qliksense
