Educational Qualification:
For Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee):
- Matriculation & Three years of full-time Diploma in Engineering from Govt. recognized institute in Electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Chemical, Ceramics & Instrumentation discipline.
For Operator-cum-Technician –(Boiler):
- Matriculation and 3 years full-time Diploma in Engineering from Govt. recognized Institute with 1st Class Certificate of Boiler Competency.
Attendant cum Technician(Trainee):
- Matriculation and passed All India Trade Test conducted by NCVT, Govt. of India after completing the stipulated period of training as Trade Apprentices in an Integrated Steel Plant.
Age Limit (As on 11/10/2019):
- For Operator-cum-Technician Trainee: 28 years
- For Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler): 30 years
- For Attendant-cum-Technician Trainee (AITT): 28 years
Age Relaxation:
- For SC/ST candidates: 5 years
- For OBC(Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- For PWD-General: 10 years

Pay Scale:
For Operator-cum-Technician Trainee:
- During 1st year of training: Rs.10700/-p.m
- During 2nd year of training: Rs.12200/-p.m
- Pay Scale of S3 grade: Rs. 16800 – 24110/-
For Attendant-cum-Technician Trainee:
- During 1st year of training: Rs.8600/-p.m
- During 2nd year of training: Rs.10000/-p.m
- Pay Scale of S1 grade: Rs.15830/- Rs.22150/-

SAIL Recruitment – Selection Process:
The selection process is based on the written examination, skill test/trade test
Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- For UR Category: 50%
- For SC/ST/OBC/PWD: 40%
Written Exam Pattern:
The written test will comprise of a total 100 questions which are to be attempted in 90 mins.

- Relevant Diploma Engineering Stream (50 Questions)
For Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler):

- Boiler Competency (50 Questions)
For Attendant-cum-Technician Trainee (AITT):
- General Awareness (40 Questions)
- Logical Reasoning (30 Questions)

Application Fees:
- Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee)/ Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler): Rs. 250/-
- Attendant-cum-Technician Trainee (AITT): Rs. 150/-
Note: SC/ST/PWD/ESM/Departmental candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee.
