SSC Junior Engineer Recruitment 2019- Selection Process:

• The Selection Process is based on the Examination followed by document verification.
• The Examination consists of Paper-I & Paper-II (Computer Based Examination and written examination).

Exam Pattern:

Paper-I(Objective Type): Computer Base Mode:

• Paper-I will be conducted in computer-based mode with a total of 200 marks.
• The SSC JE Question paper will be set General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Engineering (Civil & Structural, Electrical, Mechanical).
• There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.
• Candidates are not allowed to bring their own Slide–Rule, Calculator, Logarithm Tables
  and Steam Table for Paper-I.

Paper-II (Conventional Type ): Written Examination

• The written exam will be conducted for 300 marks in General Engineering

  and Steam Table for Paper-II only. They are not allowed to use such aids for Paper-I

• The Syllabus for General Intelligence would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type.
• The test may include questions on analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, et.

General Awareness:

• Questions will be aimed at testing the candidate‟s general awareness of the environment around him/ her and its application to society.
• The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, and Scientific Research, etc.

General Engineering (Civil):

• Building Materials, Estimating, Costing and Valuation, Surveying, Soil Mechanics, Hydraulics, Irrigation Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering.
• Structural Engineering: Theory of Structures, Concrete Technology, RCC Design, Steel Design.

General Engineering(Electrical ):

• Basic concepts, Circuit law, Magnetic Circuit, AC Fundamentals, Measurement and Measuring instruments, Electrical Machines, Fractional Kilowatt Motors and single phase induction Motors, Synchronous Machines, Generation, Transmission and Distribution, Estimation and Costing, Utilization and Electrical Energy, Basic Electronics.

General Engineering(Electrical ):

Minimum qualifying marks:

• UR : 30%
• OBC/ EWS : 25%
• Others: 20%

Resolution of tie cases:

In case  more than one candidate secure the equal aggregates marks in PaperI+Paper-II, the tie will be resolved by the following conditions:

• Total marks in Paper-II.
• Date of birth, with older candidates, placed higher.
• Alphabetical order of the names of the candidates.
