Job Description For IBM off Campus Recruitment :
As a Software Developer in the Runtimes Cloud Optimization team you will explore the latest cloud technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes and optimize language runtimes such as Java for cloud environments. This involves optimizing the Java Components such as the JVM, Garbage Collector and JIT. You will also be focusing on JVM performance engineering for cloud applications. You will get to work as an Open Source Developer and create the runtimes and platforms that developers of the future will be using for their cloud applications.
What you’ll do:
• Participate in the design of Cloud optimization features for the next generation of language runtimes such as the Java Virtual Machine
• Implement the planned runtime features in Open-source communities, and gain eminence as an Open-Source Developer
• Write unit/functional tests/microbenchmarks, and participate in performance analysis and engineering to ensure quality of features developed.
• Debug, problem-solve and fix bugs in existing features.
• Opportunity to evolve into a developer and customer advocate, and present high-quality original papers/presentations at renowned Conferences
