For Stipendiary Trainee/Scientific Assistant (Category-I):

• Diploma holders in Engineering with not less than 60% marks in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Electronics Engineering recognized by the Government of
  India, Ministry of Human Resource Development.
• The Diploma in Engineering should be of three years duration after SSC/HSC.
• Candidate Should had English as one of the subjects either at SSC or
  at HSC level examination.

Note: Candidates who have done Diploma through Lateral entry to 2nd-year Diploma after Xth(SSC) + ITI are not eligible

For Stipendiary Trainee/Scientific Assistant (Category-I) Science Graduate (for Health Physics Unit):

• B. Sc. with a minimum of 60% marks.
• B. Sc. with Physics as principal & Chemistry/Mathematics/Statistics/Electronics & Computer Science as a subsidiary. (OR)
• B.Sc with Chemistry as principal and Physics/Mathematics/Statistics/Electronics & Computer Science as a subsidiary. (OR)
• B.Sc with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects with equal weighting. Mathematics at H.S.C. (10+2) level is essential.
• Candidate Should had English as one of the subjects either at SSC or
  at HSC level examination.

Note: Candidates having Mathematics as the principal subject at B. Sc. are not
eligible.

For Stipendiary Trainee/Scientific Assistant(ST/SA) (Category-I) Science Graduate (Chemistry):

• B. Sc. with a minimum of 60% marks.
• B. Sc. with Chemistry as principal & Physics/Mathematics/Statistics/Electronics & Computer Science as a subsidiary. (OR)
• B.Sc with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects with equal weighting.
  Mathematics at H.S.C. (10+2) level is essential.
• Candidate Should had English as one of the subjects either at SSC or
  at HSC level examination.

Note: Candidates having Mathematics as the principal subject at B. Sc. are not
eligible.

For Scientific Assistant/B (Diploma in Civil Engineering):

• Diploma holders in Engineering with not less than 60% marks in Civil Engineering recognized by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development.
• The Diploma in Engineering should be of three years duration after SSC/HSC.
• Candidate Should had English as one of the subjects either at SSC or at HSC level examination.

Note: Candidates who have done Diploma through Lateral entry to 2nd-year Diploma after Xth(SSC) + ITI are not eligible

Stipend:

Stipendiary Trainee / Scientific Assistant Category-I:

• Rs. 16000/-p.m for 1st Year
• Rs. 18000/-p.m for 2nd Year

Scientific Assistant/B:

• The minimum pay of Rs. 35,400/- in Level-6 of revised pay structure

• Diploma in Mechanical Engg: 12 posts
• Diploma in Electrical Engg: 6 posts
• Diploma in Electronics Engg: 5 posts
• Diploma in Chemical Engg: 10 posts
• B.Sc (Chemistry): 6 posts

Scientific Assistant/B diploma in Civil Engg: 3 post

Stipendiary Trainee (Scientific Assistant) (Category-I) for Health Physics Unit: 1 post

Age Limit(as on 03.08.2019):

• Stipendiary Trainee (Scientific Assistant)(Category-I): 18-25 Years
• Scientific Assistant/B: 18-30 Years

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST: 5 Years
• OBC: 3 Years

For Persons with Benchmark Disabilities:

• SC/ST: 15 Years
• OBC: 13 Years

Note: For applicants eligible for age relaxation in more than one category, the age relaxation will be cumulative. There is no age limit for employees serving in NPCIL who otherwise fulfil the prescribed criteria for the post of Scientific Assistant/B (Diploma in Civil Engg).
