AFCAT 2020 Detailed Eligibility:

For Flying Branch:

  • Candidate must have occupied a Minimum of 60% marks each in Maths & Physics at 10+2 level.
  • Graduates (Three Year Course) in any discipline from a recognized University who have attained minimum 60% marks or equivalent OR BE/B Tech (Four Year Course) from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks or equivalent.
  • Cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
  • Final Year students are also eligible to apply, provided they do not have any backlog at the time of AFSB Testing and produce Degree certificate issued by the University as per the date stipulated in the advertisement.

For Ground Duty (Technical):

Aeronautical Engineering:

  • After completion of Engineering degree or while in your final year/semester of Engineering
  • For both Men and Women. Permanent Commission (for men) / Short Service Commission (For men and women)
  • Marks – Must have scored a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in any one of the listed disciplines.
  • Final year students are eligible to apply provided they do not have any present backlog at the time of SSB testing and they produce provisional/ original degree issued by the University as per the date stipulated in the advertisement.

For Ground Duty(Non-Technical)

Administration

  • Graduate Degree (Minimum three years degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent or cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Logistics

  • Graduate Degree (Minimum three years degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Accounts

  • B. Com. degree (Minimum three years degree course) from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

For NCC Special Entry (Flying Branch):

  • Minimum 60% marks in each in Maths & Physics at 10 + 2 level.
    Graduate (Three Year Course) in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent. (OR)
  • BE/B Tech (Four Year Course) from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent(OR)

  • NCC Air Wing Senior Division ’C’ certificate and validity of the certificate would be two years before the date of advertisement.

Note: Candidates who are studying in the final year/semester Degree course and are yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply provided candidate should not have any present backlog and should have secured a minimum of 60% marks up to the last semester/year for which results have been declared up to the time of submission of application.

AFCAT 2020 Physical Fitness Test:

  • Candidates should aim to achieve an ability to run 01 miles (1.6 km) in 10 mins, do 10 pushups and 03 chin-ups.
  • Prospective candidates are also advised to keep themselves in good physical condition to adapt to physical training at AFA which encompasses running, swimming, rope climbing and other forms of physical training/ conditioning in which they would undergo mandatory tests during training.

  • For Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years
  • For Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) Branches: 20 to 26 years

  • NCC Special Entry (Flying Branch) – 10% seats out of CDSE vacancies for PC and 10% seats out of AFCAT vacancies for SSC.

Pay Scale:

  • Flying Officer: Rs. 56,100 – 1,10,700/-
  • Flight Cadets shall receive a fixed stipend of Rs 56,100/- per month during last one year of training.
AFCAT 2020 Selection Process:
  • AFCAT written examination
  • Stage-I – Officer Intelligence Rating Test along with Picture Perception and discussion test
  • Stage-II – Psychological test, Group Tests and Interview would commence after document check for the next five days.
  • Medical Examination
  • An All India Merit List is compiled on the basis of your performance in the written test and AFSB interview, subject to being medically fit.

Examination Fee:

  • For AFCAT Entry: Rs.250/-
  • For NCC Special Entry: Not required to pay
