Indian Air Force Recruitment: IAF invites online application for unmarried male candidates to appear in recruitment rally to join as Airmen in Group ‘X’ (Technical Trades). Candidates with the qualification of 12th/ Diploma can apply for this job. The selection process is based on the Physical Fitness Test, Written Test, Adaptability Test, Medical Examination. Eligible candidates can apply for the rally from 27 to 28 November 2020 and attend the recruitment rally on the respective date and venue. Educational Qualification:
For Group ‘X’ Trades (Except Education Instructor Trade):
- Candidate should have passed intermediate/ 10+2/ equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR
- Three year Diploma course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute with minimum 50% marks in overall aggregate and 50% marks in English in diploma or in intermediate / matriculation if English is not a subject in diploma.
Note:
- Education Boards listed in Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) website as members, shall only be permitted.
- Exact aggregate % of marks before decimal as written in the marks sheet of 10+2/Intermediate/Equivalent OR calculated as per the rules of concerned Education Board shall only be considered (For example 49.99% should be taken as 49% and not to be rounded off to 50%).
Age Limit:
- Candidates born between 17 January 2000 and 30 December 2003 (both days inclusive) are eligible to appear in the recruitment rally.

Salary Details:
For Group ‘X’ Trades:
- During training a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month
- On completion of training the starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Military Service Pay (MSP), Group ‘X’ Pay shall be Rs. 33,100/- per month
Selection Process for Group ‘X’ Trades:
The selection process is consists of a Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Written Test, Adaptability Test-1, Adaptability Test-2, Medical Examination.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

Physical Fitness Test (PFT) which would consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed within 06 minutes 30 seconds. Candidates shall also have to complete 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups and 20 Squats within the stipulated time to qualify in the Physical Fitness Test.
Written Test:
- The Written Test will be objective type and question paper shall be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper.
- Answers are to be annotated on OMR sheet.
- Duration of the written test will be 45 minutes.
- Comprise of English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
- CANDIDATES ARE TO QUALIFY IN EACH PAPER SEPARATELY. Results of the written test shall be declared on the same day.

Marking Pattern for Written Test:
- 1 mark for every correct answer
- Nil (0) marks for unattempted questions.
- 0.25 marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
Adaptability Test- 1:
Adaptability Test – 1 is to assess the suitability of a candidate for employment in the IAF which involves deployment in varied geographic terrain, weather, and operational conditions.
Adaptability Test- 2:
Adaptability Test- 2 is to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the military way of life.
Medical Examination:
Medical Examination shall be conducted by the Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and policy in vogue on the subject issue. A medical examination would also include a baseline investigation of:-
- Blood Haemogram – Hb, TLC, DLC, Urine RE/ME
- Biochemistry : (i) Blood Sugar Fasting & PP (ii) Serum Cholesterol (iii) Urea, Uric acid,
Creatinine (iv) LFT—Serum Bilurubin, SGOT, SGPT
- X- Ray chest (PA view) (e) ECG (R) (f) Tests for Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic
Substance Abuse. (g) Any other test necessary in the opinion of the Medical Officer.
