Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualification:
- Candidates should pass SSC/10th Standard with Science subjects with 55% marks plus ITI certificate in welding or national/state trade certificate in welding/ Tool and Die making/ Computer Operator and Programming Assistant OR
- 2 years of full-time experience as an apprentice training from a recognized institution in welding/ Tool and Die making/ Computer Operator and Programming Assistant.
Upper Age Limit (05.06.2020): 28 years
Upper age limit is relaxable up to:
- 5 years for SC/ST
- 3 years for OBC

NIIST Recruitment Selection Process for Technician:
- Screening Committee will recommend the candidates to be called for Trade Test
- Those who qualify in the trade test will be invited for a competitive written examination.
- The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the performance of the candidates in the written examination
Scheme of examination:
- Mode of Examination – OMR Based or Computer Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination.
- Medium of Questions – The questions will be set both in English and Hindi except the questions on the English Language.
- Standard of exam – SSC + ITI / XIIth Standard
- Total No. of Questions – 150
- Total Time Allotted – 2 hours 30 minutes
Note: There will be three papers. The second and third papers will be evaluated only for those candidates who secure the minimum threshold marks (to be determined by the Selection Committee) in the first paper.
